Role Overview
Useful Arts is looking for a Social Media Manager to build and grow our digital presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and others we may test over time. You will help design a social media strategy, create and schedule posts, and engage with our community to raise awareness of Useful Arts, the CAUD initiative, and our educational content.
This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, understands how social media works across different platforms, and is excited to champion creative rights and AI transparency.
Key Responsibilities

Develop a social media strategy aligned with Useful Arts’ mission, programs, and content pipeline

Create a simple, repeatable social media calendar that supports blog posts, AI training sessions, events, and key campaigns

Draft, design, and schedule posts (static, carousel, and short video where applicable) across platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram

Repurpose content from blog interviews, AI trainings, and partner features into short, shareable formats

Monitor comments and messages, engage with creatives and partners, and help nurture an active community

Track basic analytics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and use those insights to refine the strategy

Collaborate with other volunteers to ensure visuals, copy, and links are consistent with the Useful Arts brand and voice
Qualifications

1–3 years of experience managing social media for an organization, brand, or project preferred, but strong student or personal project experience is also welcome

Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills

Familiarity with at least some of the following: Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Canva, and basic scheduling or analytics tools

Interest in creative industries, digital culture, and AI

Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Commitment & Benefits
